Graduate Intern Therapist

Carrie Craig

I am drawn towards working with clients who are navigating major life changes, as these "turning points" can be both incredibly difficult yet rewarding. Changes in employment, relationship status, or the loss of a loved one can lead to feelings of grief, loss and tremendous anxiety about the future.

It can be hard to feel confident moving forward when we feel something, or someone, is missing.

Even when we are embracing a wanted change it can sometimes feel daunting and overwhelming to embark on something new.

As a person who has experienced her own grief and loss, I want to support others in working through their own journeys of pain, discomfort and growth. I strive to create a place where clients feel able to be open about their grief, honour their experiences, and navigate a path forward.

I place importance on meeting someone where they are and working with them to create a path to success that is right for them.

As a Graduate Intern Therapist, I will draw upon my skills, training and experience to build a client focused space where you will feel heard, supported and valued. You are the person who decides where the journey will take you, I am the person who will help you build the roads to get there.

Counselling is a powerful tool in helping people connect with themselves to experience change and growth. I will start from a place of curiosity, taking the time to learn more about you, your strengths, your struggles and your hopes for the future. I will bring humour and warmth to each session to create a space where you feel able to be yourself, work through complex challenges, and move forward. Together, I hope to develop a collaborative process where you feel you can build upon your strengths, develop confidence, and help you find success.

I would be happy to organize a complimentary consultation with you to discuss your hopes and how we might work together in the counselling process.

A few things about Carrie…

With over 20 years’ experience as a high school teacher and my own personal journey, I have seen first hand the positive impact of having a safe and non-judgemental space that helps people stretch to reach their full potential.

I have been honoured to dedicate my professional career to helping teens, their families, and colleagues in developing the skills and understanding needed to navigate life’s often complex changes and challenges. Counselling is an exciting next step where I will continue to apply this professional focus in tangible ways with my clients.
